The Classic Cocktail Book Club
The Everleigh’s beloved Classic Cocktail Book Club returns on Wednesday 29 June – A classic cocktail appreciation society where civilised studying meets weeknight debauchery in The Elk Room. The Classic Cocktail Book Club is a classic cocktail appreciation society that is open to all.
Join Michael and Zara Madrusan to discuss the historical and cultural relevance of fine, fond and forgotten drinks, and tell the tales of the characters making and drinking them.
This special evening will explore the very first book in the English language to contain recipes for cocktails, The Bar-tender’s Guide or How to Mix Drinks, by Jerry Thomas (1862), alongside four cocktails and plenty of discussion.
Tickets are $65 per guest and include a welcome drink upon arrival, 4 cocktails and a snack. The event will run two hours, after which the Elk Room bar will remain open with a curated cocktail offering of these historical drinks.
